Watsonville, CA – The Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds Foundation has received a $75,000 matching grant from the Monterey Peninsula Foundation which hosts the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
The first donations will be made part of the Heritage Hog Scholarship Program This year’s recipient of the $2,000 Scholarship is Isabel Hanchai. Remaining donations made to the Program will be used to upgrade the Fairgrounds fire protection system with the purchase of a new diesel powered pump.
Kevin Larkin, Fairgrounds Foundation President, explained “The current pump, although working, is almost 40 years old and parts are becoming difficult to obtain. Now is the time to have a new one installed to ensure the safety of all our guests at the Fairgrounds.” Larkin added “We are extremely grateful to Monterey Peninsula Foundation for this matching grant. This allows all donors to essentially double their donations.”
Donations may be made online at fairgrounds-foundation.org under the Heritage Hog Scholarship Program.
